About us
Mission and Vision
SDZ Workshops was created to bring musicians together for an interdisciplinary experience that begins with a connection with the inner self. From there, we guide participants through a series of steps to release old mental blocks and establish a deeper bond with the instrument that is free from inhibitions, frustrations, expectations, and ego-driven attachments.
The objective is to share transformative concepts rooted in Kenny Werner's philosophy as presented in his books Effortless Mastery and Becoming the Instrument. This is complemented by psychological insights drawn from my personal experience as a teacher, couch and musician.
History
"SDZ began in 2022 as an initiative by English students who were also musicians, seeking a Masterclass in English. I proposed blending it with transformative concepts from Kenny Werner's books.
Over an immersive weekend at La Mansion del Drumming (My House) we explored these ideas together, delving into various approaches and steps for profound musical growth"
