About

Sergio Santibañez is an Argentinian drummer, educator, and the creator of SDZ Workshops — a space devoted to exploring the connection between music, language, awareness, and the inner self.

His work is deeply inspired by the philosophy of Effortless Mastery and Becoming the Instrument by Kenny Werner, whose teachings profoundly shaped not only his approach to music, but his understanding of learning, creativity, and presence. These ideas became a cornerstone in the creation of his workshops and talks.

Sergio studied with Argentinian master drummer Gustavo Meli, with Kenny Werner, and with Joe Iannuzzi, a student of legendary Canadian jazz drummer and teacher Jim Blackley. This lineage of study helped shape a perspective where technique, listening, and inner awareness are inseparable.

Active internationally as a performer, recording artist, and educator, Sergio’s work today extends beyond music itself. Through SDZ Workshops, he invites people — musicians and non-musicians alike — to experience learning, creativity, and expression from a place of clarity, intuition, and inner connection.
